Just an up date

Just to let you know I am on sparkpeople and love it. On spark there is a striiv team and I am now one of the new co-leaders. I started a challenge for the team, to get all your challenges done for the day. It is kind of fun. I have a sore spot in my back and I think it is because I have been running on the treadmill and running up and down those stair and not remembering to do a big stretch at the end. There are days I look really rough after getting 1000 steps in within 10 min. As you know that is a hard challenge.


Another thing I am learning about weightloss is you have to limit the boards you can be on. I wanted to test out and do a review on Dustins fit moms dvd but then I wouldn't get all my challenges done for the day. The striiv doesn't count crunches. 
I am starting The fit mom DVD on Monday.  I did check out the section on how to do the exercises and really liked it.  No sense in doing 100 crunches and not getting any benefit out of it.
As for right now I need to get my challenges in.

I have to laugh because the video I posted a  link to from the 6-pack abs guy was talking about excuses and one of them was "I worked out yesterday" he then said but you took a shower yesterday.  So true.  Made me laugh.  I have used many of these reasons not to work out.  :)
I am always out there learning new things.

Fit Mom's review

I ordered Fit moms for life  Core DVD.  OK that is step 1.  I went to test it out and I started with the excuseses  I love this from the sixpack guys    I can't work out today because I worked out yesterday.
So now that we are done laughing and then crying it is time to really look at our plan.
So Dustin had a eating guide.  He has things on it like shakes and cottage cheese.  I'm thinking that will not work for me.  Well what I am doing now isn't working either.

How do I want to review this DVD?  I think I will come back to this Blog and do an update at the end of each week.

So I now have the DVD.  I tried to do a plank on my ball and figured out I needed more air in my ball so I got that done.

I am going to log the menu for week 1 into sparkpeople and see what the makeup of it is.  I will see how many calories he suggest you eat and the proteins to carbs.  I have been eating left over candy and it's not working for me.  I have this sinus thing going on.  How many times do I have to test this whole sugar thing to learn it doesn't work.  Sugar is really rough on the body. 

So I will be getting out the tape measure out so I have more than just the scale to measure my resaults
.
So I will give 3 months 12 weeks and do a final report.

What am I hoping for?  Muffin top change.  Those last 20 pounds. 

What do I have to work with?  I have my striiv, sparkpeople website, treadmill, some hand weights, ball, and some bands.  I should have enough workout items to keep things interesting. 

There may come a day when I just don't want to see Dustins happy face and at that point I will just do something else and skip Dustin that day and be back to him the next.  With the turbo Fire test I did learn that we do need a verity of things to do.  How do those runners do it??  Oh I see they run 5 miles 1 day and 10 the next then 2 the day after.  They mix it up.

And We are starting day 1 on Monday.  I am picking Monday just because I have a busy weekend ahead of me and I wanted to give my followers time to join me.

I feel HIT is the best way you can discribe doing these challenges.  You hit it and hit it hard.  100 stairs. You hit it running because you get extra energy on the striiv if you are doing a race.  Next you are back on the treadmill for 1000 steps.  You really have to kick it up or the Striiv ask you if you give up??  Then it is back to the stairs.   We need to stop saying if only I had and start saying I am using what I have to it's fullest. I am going to use my alarm clock.  :(

Sat Oct. 20

I am missing going to the gym with my friend Cindy.  She has some things going on in her life so why am I letting this stop me from going?  It is just more fun to work out with a friend so I am working on those challenges.
 I have to tell you these challenges alone don't look so bad but when you start doing them back to back they just kick your but. 

I am excited because my new DVD should be at work soon.  The striiv is great for cardo but I am thinking Dustins core DVD should tone my mid.

Let me know if there is something you would like me to chat about.  I follow all kinds of different people in the fitness industry including Jillian.  I follow those guys and gals that think 7% guys and 15% gals body fat is a bad thing.
What do I learn from these guys?  I learn what it takes to maintain the % they are at.  Am I willing to or do I have the time to be a 15% or less woman? No.  It would be cool to reach but with my desk job and a hate of the gym there is no way.  Can I be happy with my higher %? Yes. This is my goal, It is to find the best way to maintain a happy %.
I would like to get rid of this muffin top and fit into a couple of things my daughter has designed.  She is in NY right now doing an inturnship.  It would be a bummer not to be .... no strick that   and I want to say .. wouldn't it be cool to beable to wear something off the designer rack.  You all know I will have to take a trip back to NY in the next 5 years.  The last time I got 35,000 steps in for 1 day.
Well I am off to get my challenges done. and then clean a bathroom.  I will save grouting that bathroom for Sunday.

Fit moms core DVD Review

I also ordered the fit mama's core DVD.from FitMomsForLife.com.  It is on it's way from Madison, WI.  I am having it sent to work so hope to see it and beable to start right away.

The meal plan is for a week.  I can't post it but I can tell you how I am enjoying his slections.  I think he has cottage cheese for breakfast one day.  Are you kidding????? 
Now wait I need to be positive.  What I am doing right now isn't getting rid of these last pounds so it is time to have an open mind.  I have made so many changes that are good but it's time to look it the real problem, I am still trying to get rid of and tone up those last 10 so bring it on Dustin.
I better check Dustin's opinion on that endless cup of coffee I drink during the day.

Well if I don't blog it then it doesn't count right???

I will reread it in the morning and E-mail him.




 

Oct 18

I can't call this day 18 because on day 10 I had a small setback that knocked me to the floor.  I stepped on the scale and there was 5  old pounds back.  I couldn't believe it.  Where did these 5 come from?  I had 1 cookie.  It wasn't fare.  Not only did I fall off the wagon, toss in the towel, give up cave, just give up, I felt I let my fellow healthy eaters down.  Then to make things worst I was so bummed out I had to follow the 96% of the people that give up and I added a few more pounds on.

I was chatting with someone about how easy it is to follow a eating/ workout plan when things are going good but the minute something doesn't go right and we have to kill the whole program.  Really think about this, you eat healthy work out, feel great, live happy and then 1 day you go to get out of bed and you stub your toe so what do you do?  Sit on the couch for days if not weeks and eat cookies and pizza? 

So it is back to the striiv.  I got all my challenges in yesterday and today.  One of the challenges I had to do was 1000 steps in 10 min.  I tell you I was running.  I put it up to 6.5 for at least 30 seconds,  Most of these steps I had to do at 5.0 or a little more.  There was no slacking.  For a short amount of time I had it at 4.0.  I guess there is a reason they call them hard challenges.  After that I had to do 100 stairs.  I got it done.  I do feel so much better.

So what keeps us motivated?  I don't know.  I think you really have to have a personal goal that you keep holding in front of you.  Everyday you look at your goal and say "I want that".  Nothing can get in your way you just keep plucking away.  It's like going up a muddy hill, sometimes you slide backwards.  You may start out on a sunny day thinking this is going to be a breeze, everything looks good in front of you till there is a rock in the path. then a hill, and then you get hot and tire, then it rains and you want to quit.  Well maybe you need to just take a break.  Do you run back to the start line???  I hope not.  So what I am doing after sliding a little down that muddy hill?  I am putting on my rain coat.

I also ordered the fit mama's core DVD.from FitMomsForLife.com.   I think it will be really fun.  I did e-mail Dustin to tell him I was going to give him a review on my blog and he said "send me a link"  So I will. 
I think this might be tough but did I ever think it would be easy?  No.

Day 9

What a day.  It was just one of those days when you have things to do and you just are looking for a reason not to work out.  So I got home and DH isn't home so I get the grocerys in the house and think about doing just a few challenges. I hated the thought of working out because I know I am just to tired and it is just such a poopy day that all I want to do is take a nap.  So I did get a couple of challenges that pooped up done and before I knew it I had the med. ones done.  Then I had a couple of challenges pop up like do 100-200 stairs and I got that done and then another and then the hard ones were done so all I had to do were the easy ones.  I toughed it out and got them all done.  I can't believe but I got all the challenges done.  I do feel better.  I had french dip for dinner.  Just 1.  It was really good.  I didn't need chips, pasta salad or some other high fat or high calorie item with it.  I was good.
On to another day.

Day 8

I really had a rough day yesterday.  I did learn a couple of things.
1. if you are use to eating a big salad at lunch during the week eat it on the weekend.  DH eats at the end of the day and this isn't working for me.  I was eating the cookies I made the day before because I was really hungry.  Now these cookies had lots of nuts in them but I know better.  I tell you home remodeling projects are a stress factor.
2. I did get my challenges in and I felt good about that.

Today I also got my challenges in.  I had on challenge to get 3 more trophies done so I checked how far I was on some of them (new thing I learned) and I thought no problem I got this one.  So It was up and down the stairs a couple of times and then some time on the treadmill and 2 were done.  One more and 10 minutes and it looked like I was close to getting the 3rd one.  So it was up and down and up and down and again and again and then on the treadmill and still needed 1 more.  So I did some more stairs and then I saw the next trophy was less than 200 steps.  I tell you that 1st challenge had to be 199 steps.  I thought I was going to have to give up.  I never thought I would get it done.
So I move on.
I did make fish and some veggies for dinner.  It was pretty darn good if I have to say so myself or maybe I was starving from all those stairs.  Oh well.  How many days are there in this month? 
I better get to bed.

Oct 6

So it it the weekend.  The biggest problem I hear people talking about it that when they are home on the weekend they graze all day.  How can we make this work for us?  First get out you list of what you want to get done over the next 2 days.  If read a book is on the list don't multi-task eating snacks at the same time.  Really think about the structure of your day during the week, you get to work and work for some hours and then eat lunch and do some more work.  So what do I want to get done this weekend?  I will make my list and make sure I put get challenges done on it.
I does feel good to just sit and computer but then on Monday when I look back will I say I wasted my time?  So my list includes things like get daughters stuff cleaned up.  It is a long story but she is in NY and some of her stuff it here. Finish bathroom floor (tile project) Clean the house, Put wash away.
I tell you I feel really good when I get to cross these things off the list.  I do have to put look at a new house on the list.  I have to do a drive by today.  Remember you list can include anything you need to just do but you keep putting off.  One of the things I have on my list is to go back to UW Stout to look up some old friends.
I am seeing where watching TV doesn't get things done.

So today. I got cookies made with my mom. She needed them made for a thank you gift.  Done.  Plants in the house. Done. wash done and put away. I had 3 small cookies equal to 2 store bought size and I was still at a good calorie count.  I had a grill cheese sandwich for lunch.  I watched the amount of butter I put on the bread and added pickles and onion no ketchup.  I had a great salad for dinner.
I am full and ready to pull out the book I want to read.  Tomorrow is another day and it is back to 0 completed challenges.  I will see what my but looks like at the end of the month.

Oct 5

Ok as I am sitting here thinking of how I have to go home and get all my challenges in for today I laughing because how many times have we said - well I will just double up tomorrow? With the striiv you can't. You can't turn back time, you can't work extra hard you just can't.


When I get my challenges done for today it doesn't give me the option to do more and make up for my sloth behavior yesterday. I just laugh. It does make me want to get them done.   So I am off.  Funny how it has only been 4 full days but I feel like I can complete the whole month.  Trust me this is really hard.. 

It took me 80 minutes but I got them all done.  I was dripping wet.  You know what I forgot to do?  log my food.

Day 4 Oct 4th

I was up at the crack of dawn to get my challenges done.  I am really liking my striiv.  I think the thing I like the most is that it doesn't have a monthly fee with it.  I track my food on sparkpeople and I am good to go.  I have been feeling really good being back on track.  I am learning some new ways of getting extra energy to build things on my striiv game.
So far I am doing good at getting all the challenges in.  I think there should have a challenge for crunches or core work.
My daughter's hulahoop is here, maybe I should hoop in the morning.  I will tell you that hooping is a workout.  I am really trying to push myself so I don't slack off.  I have to keep telling myself that a challenge is a challenge and if it were easy then it would be a task.  Sitting and watching TV is a task. Hooping during the adds is a challenge.
Well it is late and I have to get up in the morning.  To make it the whole month is going to be a really big thing for me because quiting at week 3 is normal.

Oct 3rd

What a rough day.  I got up early and had a meeting so i didn't workout before I was out of the house, please note I didn't say I couldn't work out I said I chose not to workout.
Now what do you think I did about this?
I came home and got them done.  It took me about 45 min. but I got it done.  I was running on the treadmill, going up and down the stairs, back on the treadmill.  I tell you it does give you a really good workout.
I am enjoying eating salads again.

Oct 2

I love my striiv..  So I am on the treadmill doing one challenge and another on says get a bonus by reaching 200 stairs or do 15 stairs in 10 min.  Then it was back to the treadmill.  Well lets just I have the Med and hard ones done.  YYYAAAA.

Now let's repeat. "Health is important to me and I want to be healthy to enjoy life."
It is off to work.  I will have to get these last few challenges in tonight.
I am still looking for a community for the striiv.

I was looking on line and I did find some facebook type things related to the striiv.  I need to check these out tonight.  I will also have to check out if there are any yahoo groups.  I did look for a meet-up group.  If you know of any let me know and we can blog.  I think the key to this whole  get and stay healthy is to keep it fun.

So I got all my challenges completed today.  I am feeling good.

Oct 1 day 1

Day 1 is always a good day.  So I was laying in bed thinking about how I could go back to sleep when I thought "hey, nothing will help me reach my goal by staying in bed."  If you want to train for a 5K you have to run it a few times before race day.  So I got up.  I got a few challenges done and by the end of the day I had all my striiv challenges done.  I did get 11,000 steps in today.  I did have to look to see if there are any communities for the striiv on the net.  Nothing really fun that I could see.  Oh well maybe I will check out what my sparkpeople striiv friends are up to.
I do have to quick log my food for today.
I did have left over fruit from yesterday so I had that with some peanutbutter for both breakfast and lunch.  I then made this rice and bean package dish and added some pork to it.  I put it on salad.  I thought it was really good.
I am guessing is that I am at about 1400 calories.  It is more important that I logged everything over how many calories.  It is best to just get in the habit of entering foods.  Next month we can look at all the foods and make adjustment then.  The month of October is to learn how many calories are in the foods we eat.  I want you to look at something and say I ate about 1 cup of rice and beans and put 3oz of pork in it not I have to figure out how I can log these food items so I stay in the calorie range.  It is better to go over than to lie.  I do need to keep my blogging to a minimum . I do have a problem blogging to much and getting nothing else done.

October 2012

This has to be the perfect new habit month.
1. All big summer parties are over.
2. Vacation is over
3. Hunting hasn't started
4. The first day of the month is on a Monday.

So what's our goals for the perfect month? 
1. Log what we eat on what ever you want; sparkpeople (free), other online tracker, notebook, Calender, scrap of paper and stay within your calorie set.
2. Do 30 min of something.  2 mile walk,  I will be trying to get my 3 striiv challenges done.
3 Print out any kind of calendar so you can see it.  Put 1 kind of marking on it if you  it got goal 1 finished for the day.  I have a pineapple stamp
4. Put a mark on the calendar if you got goal 2 done.

This is all we are going to work on this month; getting in the habit of tracking and walking those 2 miles.

We will add something else next month.

At the end of the month we will be looking at our calendars.  We will be asking
1. what was more important than reaching my health goal?
On the days you don't do your 1/2 hour or track your food I want you to write what you did instead.  If you write sleep in 20 of the boxes then we need to look at your sleep habit.  If it says computer.  Was it productive computering or was it time wasting?
If it says watch TV.  You can look at those habits.
What ever it is you will now know why you have not changed your health.  I could say from last month I have put as a priority  watching TV and playing cards on the computer.
The reason I have not lost weight or reached my goal is because I have a form of spoiled brat syndrome.  I also have a case of things are going on in my world I have no control on so I tossed in the towel on everything.
I think this is a case of tossing out the baby with the bath water.  It is time to look at what we can change and take control of those things and live with the things you can't.  If you can't change it how can you live with it without it over taking you.

OK lets really look at this.  So someone brings in candy.  You say you can't pass the jar with out putting your hand into it so you figure you whole day is blown and you might as well eat a pizza with double extra cheese as a snack on the way home to make dinner.  
How stupid does this really sound when you read it again.  How lets try something.  Tell your self that sugar gives you headaches.  When you stick your had in the jar, tell yourself again, sugar gives me headaches but I like headaches and eat it.  Next time tell your self the same thing  but then ask your self if you want that headache.  You have a choice.  You can change out the headache word for, rotten teeth, gutach, unballanced hormones, mood swings,

Trust me, pretty soon you will be saying,   UUUMM  I don't think I want a good case of mood swings today.
Get ready for day 1 and don't forget to put a gold star on the calendar at the end of the week.

If I was to tell you that you can have 1 day off per week could you use it as a day off and not as a day to pig out??
So now you got 1 day per week to not get your 30 min. i and 1 day per week not to have to log what you eat.  You should have no little pigs on your calendar but if you do, STOP!!  Stop right there and say 1 in 31 isn't the end of the world but it is not something I wan to repeat.  It's when you repeat that makes habits. 
We are looking to create good healthy habits not repeating poor negative habits

There was a basil Tomato mozzarella cheese salad


I did a C & P Get the fresh mozzarella there is a huge difference.


I use the Neuman's own light dressing most of the time. I am going to test out This dressing.




Mediterranean Tomato Salad
This easy to prepare Mediterranean-style salad complements almost any meal.

Prep and Cook Time: 5 minutes Ingredients:
2 large ripe tomatoes, chopped into large pieces
1 medium red onion, sliced thin
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 TBS lemon juice or vinegar
3 TBS extra virgin olive oil
10 fresh basil leaves, torn into small pieces
Sea salt and pepper to taste
Optional:
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
6 olives, chopped
2 tsp capers
anchovies (use however much suits your palate)
Directions:
Slice onions and mince garlic and let sit for 5 minutes to bring out their health-promoting benefits.
Combine and toss all ingredients. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serves 2

having 2 days off a week. Not doing the same thing every day.

So you ask what is new in the world of chatthefat and where have I been? Well I have been trying to avoid the fact that this isn't working for me.

So what do you do? As my husband say you pray to God and ask for the strength to accept the things you can't change and give you the strength to change the things you can.



So what does this mean?? Do you also remember the joke that goes something about John being on his roof during a flood and he keeps saying God will provide? A person comes by in a truck and John says God will provide, another in a canoe to offer a ride and John says -God will provide, Some one comes by in a boat and john says God will provide. Well John gets to the pearly gates and ask why God didn't provide. The answer was, he did. I sent you a truck, a canoe and a boat.

So how does this relate to weight loss?? Well God is providing. He gives us good and healthy foods, the great outdoors to walk in, and the love of most of your fellow man to support you in your quest. So what is our problem? We have people in this world that want to sell us stuff. We like it and buy it. Then, because we can, we buy a lot of it and we do and we eat a lot of it. This is where the once for special occasions are now everyday and there is nothing special. Pleases tell me if store cookies are as good as the ones you make from scratch? I think not. Then why do we eat them? Why do we settle. Now I have to admit there are some really good things we can buy that are better than we can make but please tell me what good do they do for the body? If you are telling me that it is a form of sugar that makes you happy we need to really look at the whole picture of your life. Is sugar really going to change the other things that are going wrong and we want to change in our lives? Sugar is like going to the movies. You go, you have a good time but sometimes you come out with soda on your shirt, salt and butter on your fingers, gum on your shoes. There are side effects. So I ask, can we go to the movies once in a while? Yes. Can we live at the movies? No. What would the side effects be if we lived at the movies? Are you seeing where I am going with this?

So we went to the movies a few to many times, what do you do about it? First we need clean your eating habits then change your activities and last clean or change your shoes.

I did have more to this post but then I lost it when I went to post it. I did have every good intention but without knowing it I lost it. What am I really saying? What was my plan? Did I forget some of the small details like save? What happens when you forget or are too lazy to pack a lunch?
So we are on our journay of our better direction.

July 28

TurboFire update
I am doing good but having a problem remember to blog. I was doing 55 yesterday and thinking about how hard it is to stay focused. I think this is why Beachbody wants you to do your measurements at 30 days. if you are following the program you should be seeing some improvements. I am down an inch in my waist.
As you all know I chat and log on sparkpeople, one of my spark friends is jumping on as a weight loss friend. I will call her Sue.
Sue is ready to jump back on at giving it her all to get rid of the last 5 -10 pounds.
Sue is one of my support people I turn to when the going gets tough. A good support group or person is important.

I'm not forgetting about this blog but I have to take care of a couple of things. I am still working out and doing Turbo Fire. I worked out with a trainer on Wed. Good work out but what I really want to make sure I have good form.

My eating. I am missing some old habits. I really have to think of how these old habit effected my health and body fat.

Always remember you are not alone.
I am looking into tap out. Someone was talking about it. It looks interresting. Turbo Fire is a kick boxing type of a workout.

I'm starting to forget what day of the challene this is but turbo fire was fun this morning. My body toning person at the gym on Sunday said to crank up the music on the turbo fire. Really there's a button for that. say yes for fire up the music. I wasn't always on beat but I did have a great time. If your doing this with me keep it up. I am feeling toning which is really good. I made hummus and cucumbers for breakfast and am taking some for lunch.

U-tubes

I was thinking of doing a couple of videos and putting them on u-tube. I do have a list I would like to do. Let me know what you think. I will find and post the list I came up with.

Day 28

I have to catch up on what is going on in my life of working out. I got up yesterday and did turbo fire 55. I did the new to class just to see what it was all about. So here is the scoop. It breaks down the workout so you can learn the moves. She goes through each move and what she is going to que it as. This is worth doing. If you are feeling the moves are to complex this is a good option.
I have been doing well on logging what I have eaten and staying with in calories till today. I had to go out for an ice cream cone with DH.
I worked out with my friend Cindy at the gym. Oh what a workout. We did "Total body workout" OM we did these running and sprinting and rope jumping and then the ab work. I kept thinking about how hard it was and that I wanted to quit but then I kept thinking "get going" because this is replacing my turbo fire workout. The ab work was a killer.

I feel like there is some improvement in my fitness. I can jog longer, I can lift more.

I am getting close to the first 30 days.

DaY 25

I have to be the first to say I have been slacking. I had to spend a couple of days in NY and I guess I really used that excuse to talk some slacker time. I did walk a ton in NY. I have been trying to get back on the ball. I did work out Monday & wed so far this week. I have been watching what I eat really close. While in NY we had really bad internet hook up so I couldn't keep up on the blogging.

Torbo fire 45 review. This was not the ez one. I tell you I am glad I am doing this for the first time in the comfort of my home. I had to look like a clown. These moves are not what I call easy to master but I was getting much better by the end of the 45 min. I just kept trying and giving it my best.
I am getting better and as I see the moves more than once I'm doing a lot better and it is getting more fun.

Review on Ice cream cravings. It's not as important as it was 3 weeks ago.

Traveling

So we are back frome traveling. I staped on the scale this mornig and it was like the biggest loser show. I really didn't know what to expect. Was I up? was I down? What did I eat last night ? I did have some of those pretzel chips. I started thinking of all these different things that could of made the scale go up. I did't really workout but I did walk a ton. 10 miles on 2 of the days but then we sat in a car for the last 2 days. well I am the same. Then I started think what if I wouldn't of had this or that but then I think the same is good. I did do a post while I was in NY so I will C/P it in here.

Up date on the turbo challenge. I was doing really good on all the tracking until this week. I had to run off to NY to do something.
We drove from the Midwest Monday night. I would really have to think of what we ate on the road. I did follow the 27 rules and think I did pretty good.
Tues, Ok This is my note to self. If you can’t log it right away write it down on anything, Even if it is on a napkin. The thing I do remember is the ok key do kee popcorn. We did do the cal X servings and came up for the whole bag 1200 cal. This did take me 2 days to eat it. Oh now I remember. We didn’t eat a meal on Monday night I just had the popcorn. We then got on the road and stopped and this plaza thing and had a Quesadilla cheese. I tried really hard to find something with some veggies on it. I was eating my popcorn while we were driving. We did get something to eat when we got to the Hotel in NY. I was so tired and so hungry. Our best choice was to split a veggie and swiss omlet. They served it with FF and toast. I had 1 of the toast and 1 FF
Wed. we go up and got into the city with out stopping for breakfast. I did get some coffee in the city. It was kind of hot so water tasted really good. I was waiting to eat with dear child so I walked around till she was done. Well somewhere in the afternoon one of those fruit smoothies sounded really good. Dear child is a vegetarian so it was kind of hard to find something good. I could of eaten fruit off the street carts. We did split a sandwich fresh Mozzarella and Tomato on a form of rye. It was really good.
When we got back to the hotel we did order a pizza. OH my the cheese. We were really hungry. My striiv said 25,000 steps when we headed back on the train.

So how am I doing on my work outs?
We did walk a lot today but Tues. we spent all day in a car. We did get out and walk as much as we could.
This is a real bummer that I can’t get on line but you just have to learn to deal with things. So just because I can’t log things does that mean I should go out and buy the latest greatest thing and get a phone that logs on and all the time just for 1 week. The new phones are really cool but, it really isn’t something I need so I guess I am just going to have to deal with life at low tech for a couple of days.

One of the days we went into this store like a whole foods and got lunch. We picked up a crandberry and walnut salad and then some fresh fruit. We then headed to the park. That was really nice. I did so enjoy that part of new york.

Day 13 Sat

I sent a e-mail to someone about this challenge so I had to C & P this here--

I tell you it is really hard but getting easier. Now what is getting harder is that I just want to say I give up, It's to much work. So I have to drive to NY this week so I am taking my laptop with so I can workout in the hotel room. I wanted to do this 100% and then I thought about life and life happens. What happens when you travel??? These are all things that everyone runs into and what do you do about it? You can't just go to the ranch and get fit or skinny or just work out.

Day 12

I don't know what it was but I just didn't want to work out. I had things I had to get done in the afternoon so I had to get to work. I am having a few stress things so I just blew it off.
So how do I feel about doing that?? I guess I look at it like your going to do it too. I too just have those days.
So I had a couple of bananas for breakfast w/ peanutbutter. I felt sick after eating that bean dip the night before. I didn't feel as sick as I had a water inbalance. The bananas worked.
I missed lunch because I had a ton of stuff I needed to get done and I had to pick dear child up in the afternoon and stop at in-laws. We stopped for gas and DHusband got a coffee freeze drink. It was really good. I shared some of it with him. Had pizza at in-laws. It was really good. I cut it with a knife and ate it with a fork. You do eat slower that way. Had 3 squares. We also did have some ice cream. I did a passon the hot fudge. I figured total cal. about 1200 cal for the day.

Talking about deprived

I had to do a C & P to from a mail I did to someone on sparks. After I sent it I thought it was pretty good so I thought I would share it with you. It was from the turbo jam team leader looking for people to be friends of ned to turbo people. Having a workout friend is a great help for those down days.

I would love a friend. I started turbo fire last monday and am blogging about it on chatthefat.blogspot.com I have a chatthefatwi@gmail.com I am posting a few quick details everyday including the calories I track on sparks. I am also doing the summer 5%. I only have so much time to computer so I have to pick and choose. I do check in if there is something new going-on on the turbo fire board and then I have to check on people that are doing it and how they are doing and what I have to look forward to as far as their results. Still lovinng my striiv and wear it everyday. Turbo fire really kicks the steps up. It also reminds me to pick my feet up not just slide them. Let me know. I can work with anyone. This is the industry I want to break into as a health coach type of person. I have come to the conclusion that it is all how you think. When you can answer the question what are you deprived of and say,- nutrition, fin, fitness, health,flavor, just enjoying life you are ready. when you stop thinking I will be deprived of pie and cookies is when you have taken the first step. Pie and cookies will not protect you but the moves you learn in turbo fire might. I just ask and how is that cookie reward diet thinking working for you? I was really wild this past weekend and put whip cream on my watermelon. OM it was so good. I have to get to work Lynn

How is it doing? Well it is getting easier to get out of bed in the morning. I did fall back to sleep and in a 1/2 hour I looked at the clock and thought I can still get this done and got up and got it done. The steps are getting easier. I don't look quite as lost. I can keep up 75% of the time. It's when she changes something it takes a little to get the pattern down. It is all about counting. Once in a while I just have to fake it till I get it.


Thoughts of the day. The scake went up a pound this morning but that's ok. i thought about how many calories and high salt items I ate yesterday and life goes on. I am sitting in the sun in the back yard and oh do I feel good.

How is it doing? I found my disk. Ran up and down the stairs trying to find it. The core disk started out pretty ez. Note the words started. I was feeling the burn saying "are you trying to kill me" by the end. The stretch 40 is like 40 min of yoga. Take note that this confirmed I hate Yoga. I think it is the biggest waste of time. Dear child says it is all about breathing. I will give you breathing, I wanted to toss some cookies from the up side down stuff. DC says you have to breath in on a 4 count and breath out on a 4 count. I think I need to take some sinus meds and try it again next time it comes up. Someone wanted me to try an invert machine in public. Are you crazy?? Anyone with sinus issues would know what I mean about this. Now I need to fix some computer stuff and get back to painting.


Thoughts of the day. I tell you I am at the point that I want to just say why am I doing this? Then i think because it is important to me. Then I have to start thinking how important. So to day I have a core 20 and stretch DVD to do. That should be ez. I can't even think right now. No it's not ez if it were then all people would be walking around with a six pack and not just in there pick-n-save bag. I do have to finish up my painting so I better get going I can't wait to start crossing some things off the list. This ceiling has been bugging me for the last 8 years. It time to start clearing my life plate.

I am enjoying watermelon being on sale. It is the whip cream thing that might not be good. Let me tell you how good it really is.

How is it doing? I thought today would be a breeze because it was the fire starter day. Wrong. As you get better at the steps the workout gets more intense. I am dripping.
So here is my turbo fire tips. Wear shoes. Don't do it in your bear feet on a yoga mat. Your feet stick to the mat which makes the moves harder.

How is it doing? I am having computer problems at work and it is driving me nuts. I have to get into work and get this finished up. Then I have a ton of work to do but I do want to workout when I get home. I will see if this works. I really do intend on working out so I need to stick to my guns. Lets see tonight I should be doing the 45EZ. If it is anything like the 55EZ. I should be on the mat at the end just whipped out. There is nothing EZ about this program. I'm not thinking I would be doing this at 50 pounds heavier. This is an advance type of work out. It is at a fast pace. If you don't gey the moves real fast I could see where you would give up. Now for my aerobic friends or jazzersice friends I would say give it a try. I think they have a sample workout on youtube.

I do want to go to the gym on Sat with my friend Cindy. I will have to figure this out.

How is it doing? I tell you this was a rough day. I am waiting for the TV guy to fix our TV. The power supply went out. So I tried to get the dvd to play on my 13" I couldn't remember what you had to set the tv on to get it to play so I tried to play it on my computer but I forgot I ran a reg cleaner on my computer that whipped out the start to all my programs so the dvd player wouldn't launch. UUUGGG You would of thought I would of given up by now but I didn't I got it done. I tell you nothing is going to stop me from doing this.
I better check what I should be eating. The thing is I do better eating fruit and PB then putting something on 1/2 an english muffin. Remember I have a problem with carbs.

As I flipped through things I did see some fat free things which you know I also have a problem with. So I do see an area where they talk about foods and sugar vs. fat.

Thoughts of the day. I am feeling pretty good. I think the stretch is more of a yoga.
I did get more of those tiles up in the bathroom.
I thought I would also say I drink a bunch of water most of the day but I do have coffee w/ a little low/fat chocolate milk. You know I am really watching the chocolate milk. I did learn that in 1 cup of CM it has 1/4c. of sugar in it.

Finishing touches

I will be ready to start in the morning. I still have to do a copy of the workouts so I can write on them. I figured out how to print my daily food tracker so I think I will print this just to keep it in my scrap book. I can e-mail a copy to anyone that might want it. I tell you that I do love the spark tracker. If you really want to know what I am eating look me up "lynnbaum" is my user name. I set my mom up with it so she could find some healthy things to make with the my recipes. I do see they have a easy vegan book on sparks that I think I am going to get for dear child. $2.99 I think that is a good price. I think in every persons life they say something has to change because I am not liking the direction I am headed. As of right now I am not headed down that road but Dear child(22) is.
I feel it is more important to me looking at the additives and how they grow our food rather than just cutting out groups of food. There are things in the health food store I would never eat. So here's my question??? Just because it is a fish does it mean it is healthier for you than a beef, pork or chicken product?? Is TVP or other soy products better for you??

For this challenge I will be living by the 27 concepts.
Now, I also have in my book what you are willing to do to reach your goals. What changes are you seeing that would improve your life.
Here are mine.

Willing to change
1. Clean up the ice cream addiction.
2. Working on working out everyday.

Projects I need to get done.
1. paint inside of house.
2. Finish bathroom remodel.
3. clean each room and get rid of clutter. (part of cleaning your home plate)
4. Really look at where I want to go with chatthefat. Do I have time to turn this into a business?
5. Start a meet up group for chatthefat. Share my success. Look for it in Burlington WI.


Goals.
1. Do a 5K under 30 min.
2. Have fun with working out and make it more important in my life.

I might have to really think harder at this list. But you see that reaching 110 on the scale isn't a goal. I want real health goals. Things I can maintain. Have you ever heard of being skinny fat? That would be the 110 thing. Any one that is measuring success on a scale can bring you a success that isn't the healthiest. I was talking to someone that was telling me what she ate the day before. Sugar was the #1 item then there was an egg salad sandwich. This person is nutrition deprived. She might be at what is considered a healthy weight but she has a few things she would like to change. When you are looking at making a change in your live you really do need to set a goal you can live with for the rest of your life. Could I say my goal is to cut ice cream out of my diet. I am from WI and I know ice cream is something I really enjoy so I will set my goal at cut ice cream to a controllable level. I am willing to cut ice cream out during this 90 challenge just for this study but I know I will bring it back. If I bring it back by the 6 serving size bowl I will lose some of fitness level I hope to get during this challenge. Now if I bring it back in the 1 serving size I should be able to maintain the fitness level. Remember I am not doing a challenge going from 10 to 6% body fat and never will. I am not trying to become ms. fitness. I just want to check out this 90 day challenge while I am still young enough to do it. I do know of someone that went back to school for a law degree at the age of 50. I had to use her. So if she can do it so can I and you may be saying if Lynn can do it so can I.
My dream would be to tell my journey and help others with the simple ways you can make changes to your life. I think they add the word coach to the words weigh loss, health, fitness.

I want to be your weight loss coach. I hope to turn my passion into a business.
I would love to lead a study group with you and your fat fighting friends. I think I will call it "Me & My FFF"

Turbo fire challange

Ok I did it. I bought turbo fire from beachbody.
Let's talk about how we think about this.
1. we get something new. we are excited
2. We make big plans on how we are going to workout every day and just get ripped because the box says it will work with little to no effort.

So we have the box. I did get on the treadmill this morning because I am getting a part replaced on my TV. I could use my little 13" TV.
So the big start day is Monday June 25. I will be blogging the whole 90 days because I want the T-Shirt. Maybe I will be adding a video or 2.
I will maybe log eveything I eat. Well I have a couple of days to get this all set.

Who's with me? I will add a link to my sparkpeople if yo you want to see what I am eating. Maybe I will check out the beach body site. So I have a few choices, beachbody, slimkickers, sparkpeople. I think I have the name lynnbaum on them all.

If you remember back I did do the one day diet test for the $1000.00 about 5 years ago. This time I have a T-Shirt on the line. I guess I know how hard some of the beachbody programs can be but they work so when I get my T-shirt it will have real meaning to me. I don't think I have ever seen a BB T-shirt at the good will.

So what if you don't have or want to do a different program? I hear you. So what can you do? Just say this my plan. You can post you day1 under my post.

Striiv

I got an email from someone on sparkpeople that they started a striiv group.  I saw someone had a post about where to buy it but more important there was an update on the software.  I downloaded it.  Very cool.  I had to get up and do those 2 miles this morning on the treadmill and get some challenges done.
I did think of something else I wanted to talk about but then I didn't know how to sign into blogger.  I had to figure it out.  I got it now.  Have a great day.

Striiv update.  Having way to much fun with it.  My friend Cindy is back on the losing wagon.  I have to keep doing these challenges so I  do push her.  Hey Jillian, she thinks she has to hold the treadmill up.  I assured her that it is OK to let go.  I had a couple of days that I got all the challenges done.

Safety at the gym. 
That clip thing on a string.  So no buddy really uses these things but maybe they should.  I was at the gym and saw someone fall of the end of the treadmill.  So I did point out to her the safety clip.  Just clip it to someplace on your t-shirt.  If you are new to the treadmill or trying a change to your normal walk clip it on.  If you are starting to run clip it on.  When that woman was falling I'm sure all she could think was "stop, stop,  well it would of stopped.

The tools we need to succeed are there, why don't we use them.  Put the clip on and let go of the bars.  If people are willing to take an ice shower because it burns a few extra calories, I am guessing you can burn the same # of calories just by moving your arms.

I feel like Edison .  Edison learned how not to make a light bulb before he ever learned how to make a light bulb.  With that said I too learned how not to lose and maintain weight loss.
So once again I had to test something out.  I have a friend that said lets just give it our best for the next month and see how we do.  Well week 1 & 2  went OK but then week 3 on the weekend It was like we had never eaten all month.  I should of known this weekend was going to be rough because of the 3,6,9 thing.  So are we back to week 1 or are we on week 4?  Either way we need to be a little more prepared come week 6.
So I will call my friend Amy.  She is an internet friend about the same size trying to tone and control snack intake and lose the last 5 pounds.  She is already down 40 pounds.  Then there is my local friend we will call Betty is more on the start of a journey.  Betty is trying to add more workout time and follow the 27 rules.  I too follow the 27 rules, Amy is going to follow a cottage cheese, protein shake type of a eating plan.  I will keep you posted as to how we do.  Amy is also doing lemon water to drink in the morning.  Lemon water gets things moving.  It helps the liver.  It is the taste of sour.  When we did the healthy detox we drank a whole lemon in water in the morning.  It does help move things.  The liver governs emotions so if you add lemons and eat a healthy diet don't be surprised  if you don't run through emotions during the day.  If you want to do the detox 8 week program contact one of my followers Arthur.  He has 28 year in the industry.  I trust him with my health.  He is in Racine WI but he does skipe.
OK back to our weightloss study.  We are now starting week 5.  So far I think I am down 6 pounds.  Not to bad.  This past weekend we had to go to Chicago 2 days for a graduation.  Columbia.  Daughter is in fashion studies.  I put her fashion runway on my facebook.




This is the sushi I had when we went out to eat.  It was very good.  You can see just a bit of dear child plate.  Hers had some tempura things on top.  One of the rules are no deep fried so I really read everything.  We walked so much this past weekend.  12000+ steps each day.  Every place you went you walked, and walked fast. 



Well it is back to work in the morning.  I did workout with jillian w/ weights.  I do enjoy kettlebells but I really worry about our tile floor and tv.  I am still enjoying my striiv and slimkickers website.  I do have to email my friend that is one of the developer how much I enjoy her site.
Maybe I will do a short daily up date.  I love everything on salad so you know when I made those dirty beans and rice I put a big scoop on salad greens.  Oh so good.

I did do the your shape kinect this morning and got almost 4000 points on the block punch.  Then I had to do the jillin kinect game.

Take the fun out of advertising for your kids.

I need to post a note because I want to talk about this.  I am listening to something that reminded me of this topic.  The second thing that reminded me of this was because I was at the grocery store and this child was asking for things he no way knew what it was but knew the picture.  How do you teach your kids.  My daughter now thanks me for this.
I also have to tell you about teaching her to wear socks.

I think I talked about bout this before but how do little kids know these products?
Jingles logos?  The box doesn't really dance.  I guess when you see ads you as the parent have to say, gee our box doesn't dance or sing.  If you start point out the not trues about products maybe our kids will become less trusting to only read the front of the box.  This subject is just to hard to talk about.  Advertisers get paid big bucks to get us to buy products.  I think this is  a first that I am at a lost for an answer.  Maybe we need to work on the positive of spending time together in the kitchen preparing good foods.  Maybe doing some veggies in a pot.  This is the time you should be putting lettuce greens in your pot.  It likes the cooler months.  I am putting mine out this week.  I got some really nice pots at the end of the year.  I am going to do a whole patio garden.  I never thought I would be excited about beets.  I will have to link a picture.

Learn out loud

I am listening to  learn out loud because it is a free download today about Professor Rogan Kersh describes the politics of food and nutrition
It is really good.  He is talking about when the shift went from fat being desirable to unhealthy.  At one time about 1900 it was a sign of wealth to be heavy or curvy.  The history of how this all happened is worth checking out.  I will blast you a link.  It was free about a month ago so I get to finish it up today when it is free again.
Would I buy it?   Might be worth $20.00  I would have to look at what the price really is.

Week 3

It is the start of another week.  I can't believe it has been 2 weeks already.  So as I look back do I feel I have made good use of my 2 weeks?  Yes.  I can really say yes.  So now I know that week 3 will be a hard one.  As far as motivation this is going to be a hard week.  I guess what we need to do is put up a reminder of the changes over the last 2 weeks and think about what is in store for us for the next 2 weeks. 
I started out at 130 pounds.  I weighed in this morning at 125 but the big thing is that I am starting to look forward to those 2 miles.  We all know I hate running but I like how it effects my buy. 
I have to tell you that I have a daughter in fashion school.  She made these pants that are really cute but to small for me.  They are a model size 8 or a size 1.  So I tried them on as my goal pants and I have about 4 inches to lose.  I feel like I have made progress so I am excited to see what the next few weeks will bring. 
I am trying to set up a meeting with my once a month trainer.  I didn't meet with him last month but just the thought that I was going to workout with him really hard I wanted to be ready so everyday I wanted to quit I would thing about how I was going to explain quitting.  I really am enjoying the slimkicker site.  I have been getting in my 2 miles and tracking my food.  I am really enjoying the challenges.

I had to post this because this is what I am talking about if you eat sugar for food in an extreme.  Where does Coke advertise that it is a one item body maintainer.  Her poor liver.  This also happens when the liver gets over loaded with alcohol.  Thinks just can't clean.  I have said it before and I will say it again, people have to read lables and take charge of your health.  Doctors are there as a tool.  If you ask for trouble you will get it.  If coke gets sued there is more wrong in our court systems than I thought.
I stand on the side of coke, They offer many products and noplace do they say that you can live on coke.  Please tell me with all the information out there this woman didn't think there was something wrong with what she was doing.  If she was trying to prove a point and get a TV show about her extream habits I think we will never heard the trruth.
This is wrong on many levels and anyone that follows chatthefat know this.

Week 2

This is a really tough week.  I did step on the scale this morning and I am up. :(  I can give you a list of reasons why this number wasp up. 
1 woman thing
2 haven't been eating salads (can't and miss them)
3 did eat that ice cream (more than 1 serving)
4 slacking on the work outs
5 telling myself that it is ok to take it easy because of my mouth
This is week 2.  week 1 you are all excited because it is something new week 2 you are trying to change habits by making them stick.  Your body is screaming hey I like my old life, I like the comfort squish (fat roll) The body doesn't like the idea of leaning out.  That fat is like a savings account.  I shouldn't call it a savings account because that sounds like a good thing but it is a savings account of fat not money. 
I have to get to work.  Maybe I will get to the gym tonight.
Think positive.  This is a push week.  Do we went to move forward or turn back to our old habits.

 I really have to start thinking what I want to do with my blog.  I would love to lead a meet-up type support group.  Anyone got some ideas?

Has my blog or the 27 rules helped you lose weight or gained health?  I trying to think of what I want to do next.  Do I want to get the world Jillian ripped? no I want to help people to eat in a healthy manner.

Lets cook some Fava beans

I saw these at the store and wanted to try them because they looked interesting.  I got the red mill ones  because you didn't have to soak them.  I made this bean and ham soup for dear husband.  I put in the beans, celery, onion, green pepper. carrots and 2 cans of broth.  I chopped all those veggies with the chop o matic and tossed them in and turned on the heat.  When I got home from the store I added the ham I just picked up.  I would add spice to taste.  maybe some cilantro.  I thought it was good.  For me I made some miso.  Husband hated miso.  To the miso I added some beans, onion, carrots and mushrooms.  I did leave the first batch on the stove while I went to visit my friend Mary and stop at the store.  I must of been at Mary's to long because it ran out of water because I was to lazy to find a cover for that pan.  I did put a cover on DH's pan.  I had to quick remake mine.  It was good.  I did put 1 oz of cheese on mine because I like cheese in soup.  I really like onion soup. I do like the miso and I have a big bag of it.  You only use a small amount of the miso paste to make this.
I have to say afterr looking up how good these beans are for you I will make this again.  I will make the ham one again too.
What is the worst that can happen if you try something new?  Man should not live on pizza alone.
I now have to look up how to put your grill together and get the ignitor to work.  I love you tube.

Progress report

I really am starting to think of my post titles.  So this week I want to talk about drive and progress. First weigh in day with my motivation buddies.  My buddies, 1 new 1 I have had for at least a year are seeing what can be done in a month. And the numbers are 126.8  and 28.6% body fat.  I was talking to someone at the gym that had lost 56 pounds and is now a size 1 and she was saying because she is lifting weights the scale is going up but the fat is going down.  This is why I want to keep an eye on the body fat thing.  I have to look back at what I was last week.  OK I did try to look back on a weight and found 131 but no body fat.  This was from a day right after pigging out on ice cream.  So 131-126 looks like down 5 pounds.  Like on BL the first week of changing habits is always a big one.  It's not that I ate that bad but I really cleaned it up this week and also kicked up the workouts.  I have to say I am enjoying them.

I also have been listening to some podcast and trying to stay focused.  I have another friend that has helped develop an app and website.  I am having a blast with that.  I am on level 4.  I was at the gym yesterday and took an aerobic type of a class, very fun but she did no pushups and I signed up for this challenge to do 20 per day.  At the end of the class I had a mat and time so I got them done and completed the challenge.  I did see some one asked on the slimkickers site (my friend's site) what happens if you missed a couple of the days?  Well in my book you didn't do it and try again.  The challenge is for 7 days not like 3 months.  Sometimes you just have to say, "hey I tried but I didn't do it." and try again.  I guess it wasn't that important to you or you would of gotten it done.  Like life, it's not the end of the world.  Can you say you got 1/2 way over the wall? no. you either got over or you didn't. 

If you think of a challenge as a wall you put a sticky note on the wall and say I got this high this time and try again.  You don't get the checker flag till you do it.  So what if it takes you 9 weeks to do it, I have time.  This is all about developing habits, good habits.  Maybe 5 hours on the computer blogging isn't a good habit unless it's your income. Let's see 5 hours- 1 min. to get those pushups done and you have plenty of time left. One of the things my mom use to say is "don't make a big production about it, just get it done."  Let me quick get those pushups done, I feel guilty not doing them even if I have the challenge done.  OK done.  I feel better now.

Striiv up date.  I did do a bunch of challenges on it the other day or should I say over the last week.  I am building energy to be able to build this little town. I have to figure that part out.  Well enough for today.  Get out there and enjoy the day

striiv review

I started on Friday at noon.  so far I am liking it.  I am doing some of the mini challenges.  It is hard to say something at work like "just a min. I have to do a challenge."  I think it only promps you for a challenge when you check it.
I have been checking out some podcasts.  I found http://logicalloss.com  I really like what I am hearing so far.  This is where I heard about the striiv.

Can you tell I wen to the gym on Sat. with my friend Cindy.  She is my workout buddy.
In the slim kicker I am having fun.  I get up and do those pushups so i can l can log that I got it done.  I m logging my food on this site. I still chat on sparkpeople because I like the community.  I do have to make sure I don't spread myself to thin where I don't get the benefit of what I want to do.  So I am eating with the 27 rules.  I had spinach w/ strawberries and shrimp for dinner.  Cucumbers and a fat free hummus I made.  Child said I put to much tahini in it but I put in chicken stock for the oil.  Maybe what she is tasting is the lack of olive oil.
I found another person about my goal and she said lets really give it a 100% try for a month so starting Monday it was game on.  It's all for bragging rights.  It is a race to 120. maybe 115.  Have you ever wanted to say -oh ya, I'm good" well I want to.  That left over cake in the pan on the table can rot before I will eat it.
I need my other friend to join me in this.
I have to think of what else I wanted to talk about. Oh I know the slim kicker doesn't like the bananas I eat.  My sugar bar always overloads.  I'm still going to eat them because I love them.
Shakes.  We need to quick talk about them.  I think they are a fad.  I did buy one that is really good.  It is a vegan blend.  I like the taste of it but if I can eat the banana and peanut butter why should I blend it?  I have time to eat, because I can eat while I am having a cup of coffee in the morning.  People are made to eat not to drink shakes.  Nothing wrong with the shakes but don't think you are missing out if you are nit eating them.  One person -fit2fat2fat put spinach in their shakes.  I love spinach in salad so I will eat it in a salad for lunch.
Well I am off for the day.  I will be watching loser on the treadmill tonight.

Toys update

My new Striiv is on it's way.  It will be here next week.  I have a follower on this site that has been part of the creation of a fun website.  Here is the link www.slimkicker.com she calls it level up.  Yes I signed up and will keep you posted.  It looks fun sofar.  We all know as soon as you start tracking calories you start dropping the pounds.  I will see if this helps me stick to it.  Really anyone can lose weight it is keeping it off.  How many pounds have you lose 50 times.  You lose it just to put it back on.  I did get up and did a mile on the treadmill and some pushups, planks, and crunches.

Toys

So yesterday and for the past every now and then I have been checking out the weightloss toys.  I heard someone from a podcast talk about the striiv.  I really thought about what I hate.  I hate paying a fee every month, I hate websites that are hard to input what you ate.  I do like sparkpeople because it is easy to find the food items you want to enter and you can combine food items so you can you can repeat meals with ease. 
I'm having a thought.  I do eat pretty good most of the time but with a notebook everyday you can put what you ate on one side and your workout on the other.  You don't need a big notebook.

So I want to look more into the striiv.  I want to pick one up in the morning.  They say it is good to go right out of the box. 
So here's the test for the month of April.  I will blog everyday and let you know how it goes.
I am enjoying the your shape box punch and kicking  I got a score of 3500.  to much fun.

Meet-up group

I lost part of this post talking about meetup groups but the you will get the point.  I think it was to long.

one of the rules is if it's not working for you change it.  If I have little or no fitness friends then I have to go find them.  I have done a couple of meet-up group for business but never fitness.  I looked it up in my area and no real groups in my area.  There is one that someone started but it doesn't look like they are really doing anything.  This brings me back to maybe I need to be the leader.  Someone has to, so why not.  I think I will ask my friend Mary if we can do a chatthefat meet-up at the sci-fi cafe.  That would be fun.  Some days I look at some of my friends and say like the popular girls from the ad say, ooo,  really that's totally gross.  I then think "you really want to lose weight?"  Friends that think alike is a great support. I need to find some fitness friends.  I think fitness friends is a great name.  I liked fat friends because I know it was the people looking to reduce fat and increase health.  The fun thing is people would question the term fat friends.  I then had their attention to say yes they are the people trying to go from 10 to 6% body fat.  Yes I am talking the 10-20 pounders.  As hard as the 1st 10 and the middle pounds were these last pounds are a killer.
I figure if your not in the last pounds, follow the 27 rules and you will be.  I have tested these  27 rules many times and I keep coming back to them because they work.  I was listening to the cut the fat podcast and they also include some of these concepts.  The one they should add to their talk is you are or will be the size you eat.  So why haven't I written a book 2 or added to book 1??  because it works.  I did do what I call a couple of drafts but the concepts stayed the same.
What # is "If you want it what are you willing to do to get it?"  I really want to kick some but at golds so I am really watching what I eat, more than the 80-20 rule.  This does not include multi bowls of ice cream w/ magic shell.  I would like to say "Really, that is so gross" but some how I can't.  The thought of the strange chemicals should scare anyone but to me it is just one of those things.  So what can I do about it?  Make it be one of those special things that you only eat once a month or once a year.  I think there is a rule sugar for food.
So with all this said you have to take charge and decide what you want and do it.  If I want a meet up group I need to start it or maybe contact the one that looks like it is dead in the water and maybe spark some life into it.

BTW this is too cool.  I was listing to something and one of the answers to a question about what diet you follow was nutrition.  cut the fat people also called it something.  This means I am making an impact someplace.  High nutrition.  YES I can see it now. Love it.  How can a box of chemicals put high nutrition on the outside.  If it is fortified then it is like food on a vitamin.  How can a cookie be the same Vit. C as blueberries?    Eat the blueberries.  Truth in advertising is only part of it.  The box says..  What does the label say?  If you want it you have to do the work and you have to be smart about it.  There is no easy way, there might be some less painful ways but there is no easy way.

Spoiled brat diet

So I'm at the point in my life I really have to look at things and say why isn't this working?  I will call this spoiled brat syndrome.  We will shorten this to SBS.  So SBS says if you cry loud enough or long enough you will get what you want.  So I am here to tell you not true.  I tested this out.  Also the big plan magic curtain also doesn't work.
Lets really look at this SBS.  You make this plan buy all the equipment and you know it will work because you have a big investment and you want it.  You really want it.  You want it so bad you tell everyone that crosses your path, then you do a internet site and tell the world you want it so bad you deserve it.  Well I am here to pop your bubble.  SBS doesn't work.  Have you ever watched a runner.  I know they are a group all their own but there is something you can learn from them.  Everyday they get up lace up and go for a walk/run.  They think when they eat, I'm not going to run if I eat this because it will make me feel sludgy.  Eaters say "This made me feel like crap last time I ate it but I will eat it anyways because it will be different this time."  If a mouse hits a wall a couple of time they learn an chose a different path.  Why does SBS tell us if we hit the wall enough times it will move. TLAR (Think like a runner)  So TLAR tells us if we do a little everyday we will keep things going in the right direction.  Weekend warriors (WW) get stiff and sore and are in pain on Monday.  So now we have 3 groups of people.  If you walk or do something for a 1/2 hour everyday then when you play WW you won't be as sore.
So our goal for this week, yes just 1 week is to TLAR.  Do something.  We need to think, I am able to;  I want you to stop saying I can't and say I get to.  If there was a reason you couldn't, that would be different.  You are able and you are wasting this ability.  If we were to think of something to be a reminder we will call it going green.  "Doing the Green"  put a post a note up that say s "Doing the green"  When someone
ask you what it means you tell them you are trying to remember not to waste.  They will think you are now the big recycle person and just say oh ok that's nice.  When you look at "Doing the Green" you will think- not to waste the things we are able to do.  Who said - if you don't use it, you lose it.- Think Are you willing to give up the ability to go for a walk, rake the yard, go to the gym,  play games, I don't care if you are using soup cans and doing weight training.  Spark people had a bunch of free instructions. We are Doing the Green.

So last night (I have no kids at home) I made a pork roast. Dear husband had it on sandwich when he got home, I had it with some green peppers, onions and mushrooms and I also wanted some popcorn.  This was my trade.  I had no potato, rice, or other grain carb so I made some air pop popcorn.  When I was thinking about the popcorn I thought about the 1/4 cup of oil you use to pop the corn.  It has to go someplace.  I then asked Is there a better way?  Air pop. Was it as good? At the time I did miss the oil taste but it didn't cause any imbalances.  How do I feel this morning?  Great.  Playing zumba tonight.  Worked out and did 2 miles last night.  Feel great. So I need to remember this feeling.  We need to remember these positive reactions PR.  PR is a good word.  Make a list of your PR.  If I was to start a list I would include
1. walking or running makes me just feel better
2. working out looks good on my but.
3. gym classes brings me some common goal friends.
4. getting things done around the house gives us a cleaner house.
5. eating high nutrition low sugar doesn't cause headaches
6. walking the dog is healthy for the dog.  Ever hear about dogs and owners that start looking alive.  This goes for body size.  Does your dog eat everytime you eat?  If you change your habits track your goals by your dog.  walk the dog is a good PR.

OK I have to get to work.  Yes I work 40+ hours outside of trying to staying healthy.  I am just like you.  I don't have any children at home but I did at one time so I can relate.  I have a husband.

In close I will say, follow the 27 rules and let's live healthy.  Learn them and live them.

I read paer of this and thought OM What is next.  I am trying to turn people into doers and this is trying to turn you back into my life is no more than what is my next meal. EATERS.  Nothing but Eaters.  If you are walking behind a horse plowing a field then you can eat all you want but if you sit behind a computer all day you need to do the math.

A morning snack might be a banana from the kwik trip.  I know the people reading this are calorie smart.
I have a jar of 3 ing. peanut butter at work and for a snack it is great on an apple, pineapple, strawberries, banana.  Don't fall for the box carb stuff.

Paper Clip start week 4

Hope all are doing well.  It is the start of week 4 for me.  As you can see week 1 was my best week so-far. Week 2 was just a loss.  When I looked at the length of week 1 and then week 2 I figured "If you do nothing, nothing will change".  I did have to post on the fit2fat2fit guys facebook that I would be his control group.  It would of been funny but my goal is to lose and shape up and to train for that 5 k in May.  We did get in 2 miles at the gym on Sat. and I did a mile this morning.  I tell you that I so wanted to quit and just give up this morning but I push on because I don't want another month to go by without any gain.  I turned in my would of, could of, should of card.  I joined the get it done club.  We had to get tiling done on Sunday but I could of gotten a mile in.  Not doing that again.  It will so nice to get this home improvement project done, but then what is next.  When you own a home there is always something just like a body, you have to keep up on the maintenance or it will all fall apart. 
Goal for this week is to do better than week 1.   The easiest way of doing that is getting those miles in.  The more miles I get in now the more ready I will feel about doing the 5k in May.  Maybe I need to put the picture of me up on my wall so I remember what my goal is to beat from last year.  37.8 I think was my time.  I better calculate this, 12.19 mph.  Not to bad but I was run some walk some.  I am working on pace.  I want to do the whole thing at 1 pace.

I did have someone contact me about a weightloss game.  I can't wait for it to come out.  I did try to think about how you could do this pre app time and just couldn't quite figure out the details.  I will keep you all posted as soon as I hear more.
