Month 2

Oh good we get to start on a Monday.  You know this is going to be a good diet year when the first two months start on a Monday.
The start of month 2  I started month 1 at
  • 140.1 lbs 36.2% fat
    133.9   34.4% BF
I got this from my fitbit scale this makes 6 pounds for Jan.  Ya good job to me.

I am thinking month 1 was pretty good.  So now we have to set a goal for month 2.  So I will set it at 5 pounds.
You would think that would be a pretty easy goal till you start looking at a few things that may make this goal a little tricky.
First, this is month 2.  Month 1 you were all set for the new year, big changes.  How many workouts have you skipped? Cheat meals that became cheat days or cheat weeks?  Are you getting tired of cooking? eating healthy?  The last question you have to ask are you tired of feeling healthy? having more energy?  Having your clothes fit better?

Remember to think of the positive and set a plan for the month of February?  Change up some of your workouts.  I am going to try a plates class or maybe a few yoga class.
Lets look at what you have been eating.  Have you been eating some fun and interesting high nutrition lower calorie foods.  You don't want to get stuck in a rut of things you don't really like.

So what have I been eating??  I am getting a little slack on my pictures.
I like peanut butter on many different fruits

This is one of my standby breakfast

I had to try this.  I see I have it up side down but it was pretty good.

This is my little scale under the bowl.  I zero out the scale and then add the cheese so I know how much to add to my food on my fitness pal

This was leftovers from a fruit tray I made.

    Dinner, country style ribs.

I had a lot of left over fruit so I ate it.  Don't let these really good foods go to waste.

    My little scale.  Love it

Look fast food.  It comes in it own bowl.

    Squash and leftover meatballs

This was broccoli with cheese sauce, I added some extra veggies to this.

I thought I would try something new.

    Squash with cheese.

I thought I would try something different.  Note to self, I am the only person that doesn't thing nutella is great.

Now this is more like it.

I will call this a cheat meal.  Not cheat day but meal.  We went out to eat.  Brunch
I did kind of watch it with the brunch.  Started with a big salad.  I did kind of watch the rest of the meal but I did have pie.  I looked for a small piece.

1-24-16 to 1-31-16 End of month 1

So as you can tell I have been busy.  I need to finish up with posting for month 1 of a year in health.  I have been giving it hell on the working out and i have really been staying on track with my eating.

I have to tell you what I learned today.  I was watching a marathon of my diet is better than yours.  They really are hitting home on some really important things covered in the show.
Some of the things that were interesting is the wild man when he said this is all the things I had to do this week and gave it my best.  He did not put healthy eating on hold for a week while he spent time with family that came to visit.  He talked about how he made his best choices.  One of the other people talked about going out for drinks She said you drink your drinks faster with a straw, so you should sip your drinks.
Another person, her husband is the cook in the family and he is on board with also eating healthy.  This is a good thing because it is a family change not just a single person within a unit trying to make changes.
They talk about working to 80% of their max.  Some people look like they are working out but the one person had to fix her shoe then her hair, then the other shoe and then had to pee.  Then she basically  wanted to know if they were just starting the workout or has she wasted enough time that the workout is almost over.  At the end of the last show I watched had a twist which was that they only had 1 more week with their trainers.  All of a sudden the person wasting time had the fear of not having enough time.

How many of us have set a goal for 6 months down the road and just give you eating and workouts half heart then when you get with-in 2 months you think you need to crash diet or you will never reach your goal.  What happened to the 4 months???  Time waster.

There were many good points made during the show.  Point is that when you learn these lessons you need to apply them to your life.

One of the trainers that got the boot was the mommy diet.  The hole day was about multi task with working out.  One thing I would say is that it does give you an idea that you can add workouts anytime.  Those stairs can be your friend and to add push-ups or planks every time you go up and down them.  I think her person was a weekend warrior.  You can't catch up on the weekend.  Consistency is important.

So let me tell you what I have been eating for the past week.
1-25-16
Beachbody on demand free month

I thought I would test out rocking body.  It was fun
typical breakfast

Lunch was leftovers on salad or should I say spinach

Thought I would try a high grain bread.

It is not a fluffy bread.  Some people might call it a dry bread.  I think I made a beef roast to go with this.
 1-26-16
This was something I made and froze.  Egg whites, spinach, onion.

I love this at work.  I really have to watch serving size with peanut butter.

I made this with the campbells slow cooker.  I had it with that really good bread.  I ate most of the carrots before I took pic.
This was the last night of my kettlebell class.  I learned a lot.
 1-27-16
I seasoned the shrimp with a scampi season blend.  And yes it was great on salad.  I heated one of the veggies with cheese sauce and added extra veggies.
Wed. Zumba night
1-28-16
I thought I would try something easy for breakfast.  I think I had a salad for lunch

I ate my salad and this was leftover beef and beets

Plain Yogurt, I added my own coconut and nuts

Sat workout

I like the timer on the side

Sat breakfast with coffee

Sat dinner.  I had a pork roast I sliced into chops and fried.  Broccoli w/cheese sauce and boc choy with a light dressing  No roman noodles because I have some potatoes on that plate.

Sunday AM  4 egg whites, onion, mushroom, tomato.  Very good

Watching a marathon of this

1-17-16 to 1-23-16

So I am guessing you are noticing that I eat the same thing on many days for breakfast and lunch.  Within this time period I had a birthday party and a couple of other things going on.  Not everyday is a good day.  I have my up and downs too.
The biggest set backs I find are the days I do a lot of computering. This sitting is a tough thing because I am doing some genealogy research.  We also had a potluck at our meeting this month.  I tried to log it all on my fitness pal.  Yes we are talking 1000 calories at that meal.  I tried to watch a few things and brought a broccoli chicken dish to pass.  I didn't take out my phone and take a pic for you.  Sorry
I have been kind of slacking on the whole picture thing but I have been trying to keep up with eating healthy and working out
1-17-16 Worked out

1-17-16 I love whip cream.  This makes fruit desert

1-17-16 This was the birthday party  I did enjoy myself at this party but did say no to many things

1-17-16 I al thinking this isn't a big activity but it was fun

1-18-16 Back on track with breakfast

1-18-16 lunch

1-18-16 Leftovers so it is an easy dinner

1-18-16 I think this is one of the first signs of getting older

1-18-16 Flu tea.  It is winter

This is my go to for breakfast with coffee

Squash that I cooked off in Oct.  I froze it in baggies.  I like it with some cheese.

1-19-16 Who says you shouldn't eat bananas?  I eat them.

1-19-16 I think this was dinner.  I got one of those chickens from the deli and put it on bag salad.  I think this one was spinach and arugula.

1-20-16 I can't get the captions to work.  This is the day I had my genealogy meeting.  First pic is of chicken in crockpot for meeting tonight.  I had to eat leftover fruit so I had some in the morning, salad for lunch and I thought I would see what all the talk is about with this whole nutella thing is.  It is to sweet for me.  Taste like frosting.  I hate to toss out food but this is one that I really am not crazy about.

1-21-16 leftovers for dinner.  I am thinking I didn't take pic of salad for lunch.  I did give that frosting stuff another try.  Would rather have whip cream or peanutbutter.
Maybe it is what I am putting it on.
Maybe apples would be better.  I'm not thinking so.  I just am not getting it.
Now this is what I like for lunch.  greens with 2 oz. of cheese.  Yes I am using mu new scale.
I wasn't going to log everything from Wed night potluck but i went back and got it done.  Calories add up really fast.  I think when I pushed the recap button It said if I keep eating like this I would gain 5 pounds in no time at all.
1-22-16 Let me think of what I ate this day.  Lets see, it started out OK and normal, fruit in the morning, salad for lunch but then I ate a Jacks pizza for dinner.  Oh and I wanted brownies but I had some pecans because we didn't have any brownie mix in the house.  Oh ya on that myfitness pal said I was heading in the wrong direction.

I think I missed a day someplace 1-23-16 was back on track.  We had an early dinner with ground beef  in white sauce.  I put mine on a mixed veggie.  Very good.
On to another day  Oh and I did a Jillian workout

Did I say that I learned how to do a proper kettle bell get up??  I will have to do it on Tues night.
